WHAT WE DO

We’re the link. The one connecting the torque of mother earth with the modern society. Follow our story from the lonesome woods of Swedish lapland to the national grid.

It all started nearly 20 years ago

What we today refers to as the 1101 project, started with long-term investigations in the area of Markbygden in northern Sweden almost 20 years ago. A big plateau in the terrain approximately 50 kilometres from the coast of Bottenviken and the town of Piteå, turned out to be the idle place for big ideas in terms of wind power energy. Today we work side by side with the growth of Markbygden 1101. One of the biggest land based wind farms in the world.

“Our mission is to ensure the transmission of electricity from Europe's largest land-based wind farm to the Swedish national grid. ”

Markbygden 1101 will in full scale of operation produce in between 12 to 15 TWh of electricity each year. This amount of energy corresponds to a large nuclear reactor in terms of output effect. Our mission is to ensure the transmission of electricity from Markbygden 1101 to the Swedish national grid. For this part we’re proud owners of a contract with Svenska Kraftnät, letting us deliver 1700 MW through our point of connection, Substation Råbäcken.
